You have registered for the SUP11 Islands with a full board including accommodation. The hotels are arranged from the registration day (Tuesday) till the Monday after the event. So you have a nice last sleep after we finish the event on the Sunday.
Take a flight from your closest local airport to Suvarnabhumi airport (BKK – Bangkok). In case you land at Don Muang Airport, it might be the easiest option to take a taxi to Suvarnabhumi airport. (Note: From Don Muang to Suvarnabhumi airport, it takes about 1.5 hour drive by taxi.)
From Suvarnabhumi airport:
You need to get to the Ao Thammachat Pier (Natural Pier), Trat Province to take the ferry to Koh Chang (Chang Island), Trat Province.
During high season, it can be crowded on the road if you plan to drive to Koh Chang. Sometimes it takes up to 3 hours to get on the ferry with your car. You can’t book the ticket online or ahead of time, just go the booth and buy your ticket there. (2019: Costs 80 THB / person, 120 THB / car)

How to get to the ferry from Suvarnabhumi airport?
Take a flight from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Trat (TDX), that is a one hour flight. Bangkok Airways is the only airline that flies to that location. (2019: A return ticket should cost about 4,000-5,000 THB)
From Trat airport to the Thammachat Pier it takes around 15 minutes by car or taxi. At the Thammachat Pier you can buy yourself a ferry ticket, it takes around 25 minutes to arrive at Koh Chang Island.
Take a VIP bus from Bangkok Airport to the Ao Thammachat Pier. At the Thammachat Pier you can buy yourself ferry ticket, it takes around 25 minutes to arrive at Koh Chang Island.
